My absolute favorite sushi place. Great employees

My family and I visited Wa during Restaurant Week. First time there. The deal offered was excellent with appetizer, 2 rolls, dessert and a glass of wine fir $30. Food was delicious, and service fast. The server was very professional, and help us decide as he knew the menu very well. We definitely will go back!

THE BEST SUSHI I HAVE HAD

We can't wait to go back! My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite on a Thursday evening. We ordered the spicy salmon roll and it came to us in less than 5 minutes. Our server was so kind and seemed very knowledgeable about the menu. We appreciated this. The atmosphere at Wa is excellent. Quiet, relaxing music, appropriate lighting, and a calm atmosphere. Delicious food and great owners.

Fantastic experience. The waiter was insanely knowledgeable about recommendations based on what I wanted as far as taste and texture. The chefs were friendly and the sushi delightfully tasty and chilled. The restaurant has a romantic flair that's just perfect for a night out.

The best sushi in Lawrence!

All the rolls tasted very good, the "Viking roll" was definitely the table favorite. The "heart attack" roll is listed as very spicy but I'd prefer a little more heat. Service was good, almost too formal for my taste.

Very quiet, great service, great food. Decor a little dated but nicely kept and clean. I gather that this is a staple in LFK. Good to meet some locals and catch the latest happenings.

I loved this place. The atmosphere is relaxing, the service was excellent, and I had the best salmon skin roll I've eaten in 20 years. They have a nice selection of sake, we had two bottles, and they were both presented beautifully as well as being delicious. The rest of the meal was equally good, and I will be coming back whenever I'm in Lawrence.

To say I love this restaurant is an understatement. The appetizers? Amazing. Sides? Great. Sushi? Divine. I have never had food so good in my entire 20 years on this earth and I don’t believe I will ever find a better place to eat. Every time I try something new and almost everything has been above and beyond my expectations. I love this place with all of my heart.

This is the best place in not just the Lawrence area, but the kansas city metro area as well to get sushi. This is coming from a guy who doesnt even care for sushi! I will not just eat the sushi because its what's available at the resturant when I visit with family, but I also love it! Prices are very acceptable and there are non sushi options available for those who do not wish to expand their palate, but I would highly recommend giving it a try even if you think you dont like sushi. The presentation is also amazing when you order in a group. The rolls come on a wooden boat for everyone to share. The appetizers are amazing and come out quickly to help curb your appetite while you wait for the best sushi you may ever experience. Well worth the trip to Lawrence if you dont live there already. Highly recommend this place for any occasion.

Friendly service, good food, reasonably priced. Though extra sause is a bit expensive at $1 for a bit of it on the side. Other then that I recommend coming here. Love that they are open later.

Ate here for New Year's Eve and had a wonderful time. We are frequent customers and everyone here goes the extra mile to make every visit special. The sushi here is phenomenal and sometimes we get a special dessert that is very creative and fun. Highly recommended!

This is the best place for sushi in Lawrence. They do some of the more creative rolls, but their sashimi is of the highest quality as well. I keep meaning to try the rest of the menu but sushi wins every time. Great selection of saki rounds out an excellent meal. It's rare to wait for a table, so I would consider this place a hidden gem.

Best sushi in Lawrence! The chef seems very traditional and old school. Excellent menu options, lots of options. I have been several times and is consistently great. Staff are attentive. Well-appointed decor. Clean. A great place for lunch or dinner. Try the Jayhawk roll. Tempura is excellent, as well.

First time visiting--take my review with a grain of salt.As a cursory overview of the location, the establishment appeared to be very clean with the staff well kempt and kind to patrons.The service seemed acceptable with mild room for improvement. This is likely because I came soon after they opened. I'm a low maintenance customer, but the server inquired if I needed any assistance or recommendations. Having reviewed the menu on Wa's website, I was fairly knowledgeable of the available options.The food quality was relatively high. I ordered the saba and found both the texture and taste to be pleasurable. The tres amigo roll was also a delicious melody of flavors. Hats off for the preparation of the rice, the selections of fish, and the preparation of the dishes.I would like to return again and inquire about customs for consuming specific dishes. I do intend to visit again--the quality was above satisfactory.

Great atmosphere, the lighting and music were a nice touch. Food was spectacular. For being located as far inland as the continental US goes, sushi doesn't get much fresher than at Wa.

When you got the money, honey (and 715 is stuffed with humanity); this vetted locale is a solid bet for sushi gobbling.Not as mind-blowing as Nagoya, but the crunchy melts like heaven.
